Update on 2020 Flu immunisation program
Posted on 29 Sep 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic has lead to a change to the flu immunisation program. More people are eligible for a flu immunisation and hopefully we will have a higher uptake.
The Health board are organising a flu program for the over 65 age group. Hopefully this will give greater flexiblity at receiving the immunisation at a range of sites. They will run clinics over an 8 week period starting on the 28th of September. These clinics will run from 8.45 to 17.45. If eligible, you will receive a letter within 8 weeks from the week of the 14th of September 2020.
We will continue to give the flu immunisations in the at risk group in the age range 18-64. As in previous years we will run a flu clinic. We are still waiting for the vaccine and when we have this in place we will arrange for the clinics to take place. The dates will be posted on the site as soon as they are available.
School age children will receive their immunisations at school and children age 2-4 will receive theirs through the health visiting team and will be contacted separately.
Please direct any queries or if you have not received an appointment by the end of October and you think you are eligible you can phone the flu line on 0141 201 4180.
